Welcome to Weasel Land, Part 2

It appears as if I have a deal negotiated on a new car.  Now we have to see if we can make a deal on getting rid of the current car.

Here’s what I’ve got negotiated so far – 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited.  It comes with power everything, XM Radio, leather seats, seat warmers, alloy wheels, etc.  If you want to see it, go look at one on cars direct and select the base model Limited (select limited and don’t add options to it).

MSRP sticker on the car says: $24,120 – Written and signed offer by dealer says: $18,613 (including rebates).  That means I’ve negotiated off about $5,500 off the MSRP sticker price.  Out the door to include taxes, license, fees, etc.  (IE I get the keys) $19,800.

This car is rated a Consumer Reports best-buy for 2007 models.  It gets compared to Camry, Accord, etc.

What do y’all think?

  1. Hyundai are proving to be pretty solid cars…they’ve come a long way for sure. A friend of mine has had one for years and it’s a solid little guy. Sounds like it’s a good buy.

One thing to remember, how much will your insurance premiums increase?

  2. Insurace goes up about $75 per year for the same full coverage I have on my current car. Read another way, it goes up an average of $6-$7 per month.

  3. I think you should get the souped up Mustang Convertable.

    But that’s just me.

  4. Excellent choice my man and great negotiations!
