Shame.  Shame on you.  Shame on the current US leaders who kill in my name.  Shame on the soldiers who kill in the name of the war on terror in a land that had nothing to do with it.  Shame on the congress for not impeaching the son-of-a-bitch who is responsible, especially since his High Crimes and Misdemeanors are much more impeachable that lying about oral sex.  Shame on American society for putting up with this unjust war.  Shame on us all.

Why Shame?  The US Army announced today that it was recommending the death penalty for four soldiers in the case of the shootings of military aged men on an island outside of Samarra, Iraq back in early May 2006.  These soldiers were ORDERED to do this, they were then scapegoated by their chain of command, most notably Lt. Col. James P. Daniel Jr., and now they are to be put on trial in a death penalty case for following orders.

Soldiers are trained to follow their orders regardless of the outcome.  All their training says they are not to follow unlawful orders… but how often have soldiers NOT been put in the brig for failing to follow unlawful orders?  I’m guessing the number is fairly close to ZERO.  So for following this order these soldiers are to be pushed through a show trial, convicted, and then murdered so their chain of command can save face.

My opinion is that if these soldiers are convicted and executed, then everyone in their chain of command TO INCLUDE Donald Rumsfeld and George W. Bush should be executed as well.  Ultimately those two are responsible for sending these men into an incredibly stressful situation in the name of the war on terror.  And why are these soldiers being tried, and likely convicted for these murders of civilians?  Why isn’t George W. Bush and/or Donald Rumsfeld on trial for the murders of tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians in this unjust war?

Oh that’s right, our congress is too afraid to countermand this president and put him on trial for his crimes against humanity.  Those crimes that rise to the level of High Crimes and Misdemeanors.  No, we couldn’t put the king of the United States on trial now, could we?

Shame. Shame on you.  Shame on me.  Shame on the entire nation if we let this draft dodging son-of-a-bitch in the White House get away with this.

One Response to “Shame”

  1. I am old enough to remember the Vietnam War and what led up to it. We were told if we don’t stop the communists in Vietnam then we would have to fight them here on our soil. Sound familiar? Any person who was against the war were called unpatriotic and communists. After hundreds of men started dying and the war was found to be unwinable more people jined the grass roots movement against the war. Finally, enough people joined together to demand the government do something and bring our troops home. Now that is what needs to be done. Bushie said recently that the troops will stay in Iraq as long as he is president. I believe that if one or both houses of congress can be yanked kicking and screaming away from the Republicans in the November elections, the remaining politicians will finally do what is morally right and end this crazy Bush vendetta war and bring our troops home. How many more must die before people start voting with there heart instead of listening to conservative propaganda? No person who votes Republican can call themselves a christian. Christ would never condone senseless killing of our young men and women in this unwinable war. Bring them home now!
