Five Movies

Well I’ve been a gloomy Gus lately, so I thought maybe I would create a list, and I hope all my friends will do the same thing.  I want you all to come up with five movies that fit the categories below as they relate to your life:

  1. You laughed so hard you couldn’t control yourself
  2. Made you (or nearly made you) get up and leave the theater and go home
  3. Scared you nearly to death
  4. Made you cry
  5. All time favorite

Click through to see my list.

Here is my list:

  1. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – specificaly the scene where his sister catches Principal Rooney in the kitchen and beats the crap out of him.
  2. ZathuraI wrote about itin my blog sometime ago.
  3. Saving Private Ryan – The D-Day scene is the culprit here, considering I was in the Army at the time.  It makes me have flashback’s to something that I did while I was there that I wish I could forget.
  4. Empire of the Sun – Specifically the scene at the end where Jim is re-united with his parents after the war.  It made me realize how lucky we all are to live in the era we do.  It also made me wonder how many children remained permanently separated from their parents after the war.  A close second is Schindler’s List.
  5. Silence of the Lambs – How are you, Clarice?  Don’t ever offer to serve me fava beans, liver, and a nice Chianti.

  1. 1. Robin Hood: men in tights 2. The Shaggy Dog 3. King Kong 4. Brokeback Mountain 5. Dances with Wolves

  2. 1) The Gods Must Be Crazy — one of the funniest films of all time.

    2) Not that I left a theater, but we turned off the DVD: The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant — a German lesbian film.

    3) Arachnophobia — I was never into this kind of film–but I went to see it in the theater anyway. One guy screamed.

    4) 8 Seconds. The ending is powerful–if you’re vaguely into Cowboy Culture.

    5) Back to the Future: One of the best put together films of all time. Too bad its sequals were made for a quick buck.
